Messaging Terms & Conditions

Last updated August 21, 2026

These terms cover the text messages ArcSmiths sends about appointments you book with businesses that use Arcbay, our booking software — barbershops, hair studios, car washes and similar local businesses. They are the terms of the messaging program itself; how we handle your information is covered in our Privacy Policy.

Program name

Arcbay appointment messages. Messages are sent by ArcSmiths on behalf of the business you booked with, and every message names that business so you always know who it is about.

What we send

Only messages about an appointment you booked. That means a booking confirmation, a reminder before your appointment, and occasional operational updates — for example if your start time moves because the shop is running behind, or to tell you your vehicle is ready for pickup.

This program does not send marketing or promotional messages. If a business you booked with later wants to text you offers, that is a separate program with its own separate opt-in, which you would have to agree to explicitly.

How you join

You opt in when you book. On the booking form there is a separate, unticked checkbox reading “Text me my appointment reminders.” We only text you if you tick it, and you can complete your booking without ticking it.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends on your own bookings — typically two to four messages per appointment. This is not a recurring subscription with a fixed schedule; if you make no bookings, you receive no messages.

Cost

There is no charge from us for these messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan and carrier.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message to opt out. We honour it immediately and you will receive no further texts from this program. You can still book appointments, and you will still get email confirmations if you gave us an email address.

Reply HELP for help, or contact us using the details below.

Support

Email [email protected] or call (619) 815-4114. If your question is about the appointment itself — changing it, cancelling it, or what you were charged — the business you booked with is the fastest place to ask, and their details are on their own website.

Carriers and delivery

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We cannot guarantee that every message arrives, so please do not rely on a text as your only record of an appointment — your confirmation email and the business's own booking page are the authoritative record.

Supported carriers

Messages are supported on major U.S. carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and their affiliated brands. Carrier support can change without notice.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects what we send you, we will say so before it takes effect.
